Enhancing Swimming Safety at West Reservoir Centre

West Reservoir Centre in London, UK, recently enhanced its facilities with the installation of our Bolina Ball Safety Barriers with Ecobarrier Demarcation Buoys. As the centre shared on their social media, “A lot of you are asking what maintenance was happening today. We got a new boom!” This upgrade aims at enhancing swimming safety and providing a better experience for all swimmers. The new marine barriers are already receiving positive feedback from the community, and we’re excited to share the details.

WHY A NEW BOOM?

The previous boom faced challenges with harsh weather conditions and persistent seagulls’ interference. As the centre mentioned on their Instagram profile, “We have had endless days of readjusting the old boom due to crazy winds. The seagulls definitely took over the last boom and made it theirs to say the least.” This new installation at the West Reservoir Centre aims to provide a more robust and reliable solution, ensuring a safer swimming environment for all visitors.

The benefits of Bolina Ball Safety Barriers

The Bolina Ball Safety Barriers are designed to offer enhanced visibility and durability. Here are some of the key benefits:

Durable construction: Engineered to withstand harsh weather conditions, including high UV environments.

Increased visibility: The spherical shape allows for higher visibility compared to other marine barriers and better resistance even at high water flow. At the same time, the design allows swimmers to see through the barrier, providing a clear view of the surrounding area.

User-friendly: The floats are easy to handle and are added to the wire rope using simple hand tools. The hidden fixing system provides a secure attachment to the wire, which allows for a variable pitch or spacing to meet client requirements. Furthermore, the barrier can be installed, repositioned or replaced without removing the cable or floats.

COMMUNITY FEEDBACK

West Reservoir Centre has received a lot of feedback from the community since the new barriers were installed. Many swimmers have expressed their excitement about the improvements, highlighting the positive impact of the new barriers on the swimming experience at the centre:

  • “Looking good today – nice to swim on the other side today – new perspective!”
  • “I love that you can see through the boom across the reservoir now.”
  • “This might make my swims stay in a straight line.”

LOOKING AHEAD

We’re proud to support the West Reservoir Centre in their commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for swimmers. The installation of our Bolina Ball Safety Barriers marks a significant step in enhancing the facility’s infrastructure.
